Fourteen years ago today I jumped into the biggest adventure of my life: I said “I do” to my sexy brit. I don’t think we had any clue what we were getting ourselves into, but that probably was a good thing! Who knew that fourteen years later his accent would be mostly gone but that I’d find him sexier than ever?

We’ve definitely had our share of rocky years, but I can say with absolute certainty that I’d do it all over again. Sure, there are days when I don’t want to look at him, and he can be the most aggravating person on the planet. (I am LittleMissKnowitAll–does he not know this?) But I also know his heart, and his soul. I love that he is the best father I know. I love that he seeks God in all that he does–literally, in all that he does. It is very sexy. He makes me laugh at the most inappropriate moments (like in the middle of serious labor), which is a skill I treasure. He challenges me to think about and see the world in new ways. He loves me completely, truly, just the way I am. He crinkles those George Clooney eyes of his as he laughs, and melts my heart all over again. When he crinkles those eyes he could get me to do just about anything…

Ahem. <blush>

Two kids, three homes and a myriad of life-changes later, and I feel like we could take on another forty years. I love you, James Tenney.

And now, for a self-indulgent trip down memory lane…
