If you haven’t heard of Sojourn and their amazing worship songs, then stop what you’re doing right now and go listen. I’ll wait! 😉
Sojourn is a group of churches in Louisville, KY that specialize in creating an environment full of creative worship. Their album Over the Grave is on constant play on my iPod and has been for six months. No, really. I must listen to songs from the album at least 2-3 times a day! My favorites? How Long, which chronicles David’s crying out for God to save him. Warrior, which has a little funky groove to it. Reveal Your Love, which has amazing guitar licks and soulful voices that lift my mood whenever I hear them. May Your Power Rest On Me–this song always makes me want to stand absolutely still for the moments it is on, for fear of missing even one note. I swear from the second the song starts I can literally feel God’s presence in the air all around me. It is so calm, so steady and yet…so electric.
This is honestly some of the best Christian music I’ve heard in a long time. Very powerful, and yet calming at the same time. Check them out–you can find their music on their Sojourn Facebook page, down in the left column.
