It’s Friday! Fridays are the day I sit down and look through photos I’ve taken recently, work on some post-photo processing, and kind of self-critique what I’ve done well and what I could work on in my photography. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to this each week. Every time I pick up my camera I feel a little hum of energy go through my whole body. It has really brought so much joy to my daily life!
I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite recent photos from the past few weeks.
This is the daughter of a good friend of mine. She loves to dance and sing, and I happened to catch her mid-twirl during a “show” she and LittleMissSunshine put on for us. I love this photo because it so clearly captures her playful personality, even without seeing her face.
This was taken with my iPhone so it is a bit grainy. This is a baby watermelon growing up our trellis in the deck garden. I love the perspective and detail I was able to capture.
I was wandering the streets of a sleepy Ohio town, and noticed this window in a storefront that is currently being gutted and remodeled. The combination of the neglect, the brokenness and still such beauty…it fascinated me for a long time. It’s beautiful in its brokenness, don’t you think?
Have you taken any great photos lately? Share them with us! Post the link in the linkup below–either to your blog or to your Flickr page where you’ve uploaded your photos.
I love the watermelon photo – nicely done.
Thanks Ruth!
All beautiful … but I really gravitated toward the windows! The stories that building could tell, right?
I had the same feeling. It was built in the 1800’s and was a general store. There were apparently rumors it had once been a saloon, but who knows. It is in Canal Fulton in Ohio, near Cleveland. I kept thinking of the people who had passed through, the stories told, the lives lived right there.
