If you’ve been around here a while, you know that last year I picked up photography as a new hobby. What began as a nice hobby to give me a creative outlet quickly became a passion and I devoured every ounce of learning I possibly could. My family surprised me with a nice DSLR for Christmas, and this year I’ve had a lot of fun getting to know this new camera.
But it is time for me to stretch myself a bit, to exercise my baby photography muscles and see if I can’t grow a bit in this area. I feel like I’ve maybe gotten stuck in a bit of a rut lately, and I’d like to take steps to break out of it. So I’m committing to a monthlong photo challenge. Every day I will be taking photos and uploading them here and on Instagram. As always, as I learn techniques and tricks I will try to share them with you as well. I am using these challenge prompts from FatMumSlim.com as a jumping off point–but if I’m inspired in a different way, I will follow that inspiration instead.
I’m going to challenge you too–if you want to improve your photography skills, there’s nothing like a photo challenge to do that! Jump in wherever you are, whatever skill level you’re at. And if you miss a day, no biggie. Just take one the next day! If you’re joining in, let me know in the comments and I will follow you on Instagram or Flickr. You can find me on Instagram as @LMKIA.
Okay, here’s my day one photo! We had a storm blow through here late last night, and I took this photo just as the sun finished setting.
