I Love the grilling season! It’s one of the many reasons that I look forward to summer. Things just seem to taste better if it’s cooked outside. Or maybe it’s that smoky, crisp, charred taste on grilled food that’s so delicious.
One of our favorite things to toss on the grill is hamburgers. Not the frozen stuck together patties in a bag, but rather homemade, makes your mouth water, to die for kind of hamburgers. We love these hamburgers so much; I thought I would share the recipe.
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 onion finely chopped
1/2 cup shredded Colby cheese (or your favorite cheese)
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix ( I use Lipton)
1 egg
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, cheese, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion soup mix and egg.
Grill patties for 5 minutes per side on the grill or until well done. This recipe makes 4 patties.
Be careful adding salt to this recipe, as the dry onion soup mix makes the burgers salty enough in my opinion. One last thing…. Make sure you serve your burgers on a paper plate. Glass dinnerware takes the deliciousness away from the burgers and is just not acceptable!
Enjoy!
I totally just printed that recipe off! We are die-hard burger fans in the Loehner house. While I like a thick juicy burger the Hubs prefers a flatter the better hamburger…’bout the only thing we disagree on!
